Elbey Mammadzadeh is an Azerbaijani pianist, composer, arranger, conductor, and orchestrator whose music bridges jazz with the rich heritage of Azerbaijani folk traditions, creating a distinctive contemporary sound. An international competition laureate, he has performed across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, appearing at renowned events including the Baku Jazz Festival, the Caucasus Jazz Festival, and the Days of Azerbaijani Culture abroad.

His artistic collaborations include acclaimed musicians Grégoire Maret and Linley Marthe, reflecting his commitment to international musical dialogue and cross-cultural collaboration. As the conductor, arranger, and orchestrator of the Azerbaijan State Pop Symphony Orchestra, Mammadzadeh combines orchestral craftsmanship with modern jazz, developing a musical language that unites tradition, innovation, and contemporary expression.

Elbey Mammadzadeh is an Azerbaijani pianist, composer, arranger, and orchestrator whose distinctive artistic voice brings together contemporary jazz and the musical heritage of Azerbaijan.

An active presence on the Azerbaijani jazz scene since 2010, Mammadzadeh has appeared multiple times at the Baku Jazz Festival and has performed internationally across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His international appearances include Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Turkey, Latvia, Kenya, and Kyrgyzstan, as well as an invitation to perform at the Caucasus Jazz Festival in Tbilisi.

His original compositions, including “Nargiz,” “Bakulogia,” “Morning,” “The Colors of Karabakh,” and “Mikayil’s Dance,” explore Azerbaijani musical traditions through contemporary jazz harmony, improvisation, and modern ensemble writing. His music is rooted in the cultural identity of Azerbaijan while remaining open to the language and energy of international jazz.

A significant part of Mammadzadeh's artistic journey has been his collaboration with internationally acclaimed jazz musicians Grégoire Maret and Linley Marthe. These projects have further shaped his approach to improvisation, rhythm, and cross-cultural musical dialogue.

Alongside his career as a pianist and composer, Mammadzadeh works as a conductor, arranger, and orchestrator with the Azerbaijan State Estrada-Symphonic Orchestra, expanding his musical language through orchestral textures and contemporary large-ensemble writing.

At the centre of Elbey Mammadzadeh's artistic vision is the belief that Azerbaijani music is a living language—one capable of evolving, improvising, and connecting with audiences around the world.
